Η Έλφαμπα, μια παρεξηγημένη νεαρή γυναίκα εξαιτίας του ασυνήθιστου πράσινου δέρματος της, και η Γκαλίντα, μια δημοφιλής νεαρή γυναίκα, λουσμένη με προνόμια και φιλοδοξία, συναντιούνται ως φοιτήτριες στο πανεπιστήμιο Σιζ στη φανταστική χώρα του Οζ και καλλιεργούν μια απρόσμενη αλλά βαθιά φιλία. Μετά τη συνάντηση τους με τον Μάγο του Οζ, η φιλία τους φτάνει σε κρίσιμο σημείο και οι ζωές τους παίρνουν διαφορετικά μονοπάτια. Η Γκαλίντα, παρασυρμένη από την ακατανίκητη επιθυμία της για αποδοχή, σαγηνεύεται από την εξουσία, ενώ η αποφασιστικότητα της Έλφαμπα να παραμείνει πιστή στον εαυτό της και στους γύρω της θα έχει αναπάντεχες και συγκλονιστικές συνέπειες για το μέλλον της. Μέσα από τις εκπληκτικές περιπέτειες στη χώρα του Οζ, εκπληρώνουν τα πεπρωμένα τους ως η Καλή Μάγισσα Γκαλίντα και η Κακιά Μάγισσα της Δύσης.
